Do you ever have one of those days where you get home from work or the gym and you’re extremely hungry, but you’re too wiped out to make anything decent to eat? Then you end up eating like, an entire bag of tortilla chips and a pint of ice cream because that’s what you found first. Besides the fact that that is in no way a healthy or well-balanced meal, you’re bound to suffer from eater’s remorse later on when your stomach feels like there’s WWIII going on inside of it. Yeah, you could pick up some take-out on your way home, but that’s not exactly healthy either. And what are you, made of money? I didn’t think. Nope, you need to find a way to tackle this problem from the inside. And I have just the ticket…
The Toastabags (Firebox, $9.95) may not look like much, but they are your ticket to tasty meals with minimal effort on your part. I’ll admit it, the thought of cooking my meals inside a tiny rubber bag is a little perplexing. Perhaps even stranger is the idea that I’m supposed to stick this rubber bag inside my toaster, but you’d be surprised with the results. Basically, these little bags allow you to heat up just about anything you want, provided that it fits inside a toaster – except liquids, but why would you heat up liquids in a toaster anyways? It’s kinda like microwaving except that your food isn’t all mushy, and it’s similar to a toaster oven but without all the mess. You can easy make grilled cheese or Panini-type sandwiches using this method. You can also heat up your leftovers, maybe some chicken and corn, and have a hot and crispy meal. Each bag can be used approximately 50 times and since you get four bags, it’s a pretty sweet deal at this price.
Just think about all the meals your lazy ass could create with such an amazing piece of technology. Remember when you were in college and all you had to cook your meals within the confines of your dorm room was a hot pot? I bet you can almost feel the excitement you got with each new recipe you created. Perhaps you long to feel that spine-tingling sensation once again…
5 out of 5 stars.
